The addition of these six new lenses allows clinicians to use their VALO Grand light in increasingly nuanced ways to provide optimal care for their patients.

Curing Lenses:

• PointCure™ lens: creates a 2.5 mm diameter curing area to aid in position and tack curing
• ProxiCure™ ball lens: holds matrix against contact while curing composite for Class II restorations

Diagnostic Lenses:

• Interproximal lens: provides a focused 1 mm white light to help view interproximal caries
• TransLume™ lens: aids in detection of cracks and defects in a tooth or prostheses
• Black Light lens: fluoresces chemicals in various dental materials
• White Light lens: provides a pure natural light for accurate shade matching

About VALO Grand Curing Lights

VALO Grand curing lights use a custom, multi-wavelength light emitting diode (LED) for producing high intensity light at 385–515 nm through an optimally collimated beam capable of polymerizing all lightcured dental materials including porcelain and underlying resin cements. The VALO Grand light features a 12 mm lens and its extremely durable, slim, ergonomic shape allows unprecedented access to all restoration sites.

Dirk Jeffs, President and CEO of Ultradent Products, Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of high-tech dental materials, is being recognized as CEO of the Year by Utah Business Magazine. The announcement came today.

“I humbly and gratefully share this award with everyone at Ultradent. All of our accomplishments, especially throughout the past year, have involved whole teams of people working together to get them done,” says Jeffs. “None of it was ever me alone. The OsteoGen® Plug is a dental bone grafting plug that combines non-ceramic OsteoGen® bioactive resorbable calcium apatite crystals with a Type I bovine achilles tendon collagen matrix. The bioactive calcium apatite crystals create a structure that mimics the organic and inorganic characteristics of actual bone and is resorbable allowing it to be replaced by host bone tissue within a few months. The OsteoGen plug is radiolucent when placed but will become radiopaque within 3–5 months when it has been replaced with host bone tissue; implant placement can then be achieved.

A groundbreaking ceremony will be held December 16, 1:30 p.m. with key company representatives and local leaders in attendance.

The planned 170,000 square feet, state-of-the-art building will allow Ultradent to expand its growing manufacturing division—housing injection molding, equipment manufacturing, repair facilities, and more. The building will support 24/7 operations to facilitate Ultradent’s increasing domestic and international presence. The building—designed by PGA&W Architecture—is expected to be completed in early 2023.
