FAQs
-
Does ExperTemp material need to be polished?
Once the oxygen inhibition layer is wiped away, ExperTemp material will already have a natural luster and clinicians may choose not to polish. For additional esthetics, we found that polishing the provisional with the yellow Jiffy™ polisher, then the white Jiffy polisher, followed by the Jiffy™ Goat Hair Brush or a polishing wheel will provide an exceptional, life-like polish (no diamond polish needed.) For highly esthetic temporaries, clinicians may choose to place PermaSeal™ composite sealer on the surface for a glazing effect.
-
How does ExperTemp material withstand staining?
Staining typically occurs over an extended period of time, so there’s not a high risk of staining that could happen within 1–4 weeks. However, due to its high polishability and composite-like finish, ExperTemp material temporary restorations will have excellent stain resistance while in place. -
If a temporary made with ExperTemp material was to chip or break, how can it be repaired?
Provisionals can be repaired with a packable composite, a flowable composite, or additional ExperTemp material.
-
How should ExperTemp material be stored?
ExperTemp material should be stored at room temperature. (18°C to 29°C / 65°F to 85°F). Once a cartridge of ExperTemp material has been started, the product will remain stable until the indicated expiration date. When storing between uses, leave the mixing tip in place after dispensing. The material will harden in the tip, essentially becoming the new cap.
-
Does ExperTemp material contain Bisphenol A (BPA)?
No, this material does not contain BPA, which is stated in the product instructions.
-
How many crowns can be made with one cartridge of ExperTemp material?
The answer to this will vary based on several factors, but one cartridge will yield approximately 40–50 crowns.
