  • Ultradent Receives Recognition at an “Evening of Smiles”

October 29, 2009 South Jordan, UT

Ultradent Products, Inc. was honored with recognition as a Community Partner at an “Evening of Smiles” gala last week at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah. The gala was organized by Sealants for Smiles, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which provides school-based oral health education and dental sealants to underserved children at no cost to parents or schools. Ultradent has sponsored Sealants for Smiles since its inception in July 2007.

Sealants for Smiles provides program services to 2nd & 6th grade students in elementary schools where more than 50% of the children are enrolled in the school lunch program. Dental Select provides all administrative support thereby allowing 100% of all donations go to education and prevention services including the application of Ultradent’s UltraSeal XT plus dental sealant to prevent the incidence of dental decay. The program has placed more than 40,000 dental sealants on children with 97% of the teeth sealed being decay free one year after placement.

The program currently serves schools throughout Salt Lake, Davis & Tooele Counties. Other partners of the oral health program include Dental Select, Intermountain Healthcare, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Humanitarian Services, Bonneville International and American Express. By year end, Sealants for Smiles projects the placement of 20,000 dental sealants on children who would otherwise not have access to these preventive dental services.
