How does whitening toothpaste work?
Whitening toothpastes help to remove surface stains while brushing through abrasive properties. Most whitening toothpastes are not recommended for long-term use due to their abrasiveness. However, due to Opalescence Whitening Toothpaste’s formula, it is gentle enough for everyday use while still abrasive enough to remove enamel surface stains.
How quickly and effectively can whitening toothpaste whiten?
Like other tooth whitening products, whitening toothpaste brightens smiles at different rates based on the level of staining and habits of the patient. In general, Opalescence Whitening Toothpaste has been shown to remove surface stains to lighten teeth two shades in just one month.
Can you use whitening toothpaste while using other whitening treatments?
Some whitening toothpastes are abrasive and are not recommended for long term use as they can caused increased sensitivity, especially during other whitening treatments. Opalescence Whitening Toothpaste is formulated to be gentle enough for everyday use while powerful enough to remove surface stains and for use during other whitening treatments.
How long do whitening results last?
Whitening results are very stable, especially if a whitening upkeep, such as whitening toothpaste, is used often.
Will Opalescence Whitening Toothpaste weaken the tooth’s enamel?
No! Opalescence whitening toothpaste contains sodium fluoride, which has been shown to help reduce caries and strengthen enamel.1
What is the difference between the original Opalescence Whitening Toothpaste and Opalescence Whitening Toothpaste for Sensitivity Relief?
Opalescence Whitening Toothpaste for Sensitivity Relief has the same whitening effect and refreshing flavor as the original, plus potassium nitrate, which has been proven effective at reducing sensitivity.1 Like the original formula, it is safe to use every day.
