VALO Awarded the Pride Institute’s “Best of Class” Technology Award for Second Consecutive Year

August 8, 2013 SOUTH JORDAN, UT

Ultradent Products, Inc., a global manufacturer and distributor of dental materials and equipment, received The Pride Institute’s “Best of Class” Technology Award for VALO, Ultradent’s curing light, for the second consecutive year. The award is the highest honor for innovation in dental curing lights. Each product honored as “Best of Class” features unique characteristics that differentiate it from the competition in a compelling way and, more importantly, creates value for the general dentist.

“VALO’s unmatched durability and uniquely powerful and collimated beam offers clinicians benefits that no other curing light can. The broad-spectrum output delivers irradiance from 395–480nm with an evenly distributed footprint and higher levels of power at a distance—which means better curing, regardless of material or technique,” said Suzanne Wilson, the senior brand manager at Ultradent. “VALO’s ease of use and low-profile design also truly differentiates it from the competition.”

“Our evaluators determined that VALO is still the most advanced curing light on the market, and this is why  VALO was selected as the winner of The Pride Institute’s ‘Best of Class’ Technology Award for the second year in a row. This is extremely difficult to achieve based on how rigorous the selection process is —which speaks to the progressive nature of VALO’s technology,” said Dr. Lou Shuman, president of The Pride Institute.

The panel that selects the “Best of Class” winners consists of seven dentists with significant knowledge of and experience in dental technology, including Dr. Shuman; John Flucke, DDS, writer, speaker and technology editor for Dental Products Report; Paul Feuerstein, DMD, writer, speaker and technology editor for Dental Economics; Titus Schleyer, DMD, PhD, associate professor and director of the Center for Dental Informatics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine; Marty Jablow, DMD, technology writer and consultant for Dr. Bicuspid; Parag Kachalia, DDS, vice chair of preclinical education research and technology at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry; and Larry Emmott, DDS, technology writer, speaker and dental marketing consultant.

VALO will be showcased at the “Tech Expo” at the American Dental Association’s annual meeting from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3 in New Orleans.
