Procedures
UltraTemp Temporary Luting/Filling Material Step by Step
See Instructions for Use for complete instructions, warnings, and precautions.
Step 1

Prior to complete set, remove excess UltraTemp luting/filling material easily with a moist cotton swab or gauze. Following subgingival set of 1–2 minutes, remove quickly with explorer.
Step 2

Upon provisional removal, shown here two weeks post-op, cement clings to both provisional and preparation. This is VALUABLE. This is one indicator of a quality sealing cement.
Step 3

Bulk of residual cement is quickly removed. Note well-healed tissues; UltraTemp luting/filling material is kind to tissue.
Step 4

Use an abrasive like Consepsis™ Scrub CHX antibacterial slurry with a rubber cup or STARbrush™ intercoronal brush to remove residual cement.
Testimonials
"I just love [UltraTemp]. It is so nice because there is no mixing involved. So it's clean, easy and when you're done, just wipe it and put it away until the next patient. I think compared to other products (and we've used several), the retention is terrific! Patients aren't coming back as frequently in between crown prep and inserts to have temps re-cemented."

Frequently Asked Questions
-
When should I use UltraTemp temporary luting/filling material?
UltraTemp luting/filling material should be used for routine 1- to 2-week temporizations. For restorations requiring longer retention, we recommend using UltraTemp™ REZ resin-based non-eugenol temporary luting/filling material.
-
What is the setting time for UltraTemp temporary luting/filling material?
UltraTemp luting/filling material has a working time of approximately 45 seconds and has a 2-minute intraoral settting time. UltraTemp luting material is water soluble until set.
-
Will UltraTemp temporary luting/filling material bond to composite core material?
UltraTemp luting/filling material will only minimally bond chemically, but it will hold as well or better to the composite core as it will to dentin. The bottom line is that the cement is designed to fail cohesively, hence maintaining a quality seal. This means that the temporary should separate fine, but the doctor will need to flick off excess cement from the core just as they would from the dentin. They should then scour the composite prep with abrasive just as they would with dentin.
-
What do you use to seal the lingual access after a non-vital bleaching procedure while waiting to restore?
When it comes to sealing the lingual access of a walking bleach case, you want a good seal to prevent the movement of any staining materials into the chamber and Ultra-Temp luting/filling material accomplishes this quickly. Ultra-Temp luting/filling material is also compatible with the peroxide and is easily removed after the treatment time.
