Technical Details

6.6% Hydrochloric Acid Slurry Containing Silicon Carbide Microparticles

When preforming any abrasion procedure, it is important to have the perfect balance of chemical stain removal and mechanical abrasion. Our 6.6% hydrochloric acid slurry with silicon carbide microparticles has been created to provide you the strength of a chemical stain removal yet gentle scrubbing power of an abrasion slurry.

OpalCups Latch-Type Bristle Polishing Cups

OpalCups finishing cups are great for micropolishing newly treated enamel surfaces. The latch-type bristle polishing cups help facilitate a more aggressive action and minimize splatter when used with the Opalustre microabrasion technique.

Convenient Delivery

To be effective, an abrasion treatment has to be convenient to use and comfortable for the patient. With its efficient syringe delivery and splatter-minimizing cups, Opalustre slurry is extremely easy to use.

Opalustre Abrasion Slurry is Gluten Free and Kosher Certified

Opalescence whitening products are gluten free and kosher certified, so they fit in with the lifestyles and beliefs of patients from any background.

Unmatched Quality

The names Opalescence and Ultradent are synonymous with quality. All of our research and development is done in-house. So is our manufacturing and quality control. This allows us to guide and oversee the entire process—from the time an Opalescence whitening innovation is conceived to the time it’s created and packaged for shipping. We have met the strictest standards, and our facility is ISO 13485 certified for medical devices. All of this ensures every product performs exactly as it’s supposed to for you and for your patients.

Made in the USA

Opalescence whitening gels and syringes are manufactured at Ultradent’s facility in Utah. By purchasing products manufactured in the USA, you’re supporting our nation’s economy, and you’re helping to provide jobs for hundreds of Americans who take pride in what they do. Buying from a USA company like Ultradent also means you’ll get fresh formulations direct from our facility—not a product that may have been held up or delayed by a third-party.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is Opalustre slurry?

Opalustre chemical and mechanical abrasion slurry is used for the correction of white, brown, or multicolored enamel defects, including fluorosis discoloration.

  • How does Opalustre abrasion slurry work?

To remove enamel discoloration, simply apply the abrasion mixture to the teeth and slowly buff away discoloration using medium to heavy pressure.

  • How long does the Opalustre abrasion slurry procedure take?

This is a one-visit procedure. You’ll notice a difference with the first application and rinse. Opalustre slurry can be reapplied as necessary to achieve the desired results. We recommend a fluoride treatment immediately following the Opalustre slurry procedure.

  • Do I have to use the OpalCups finishing cups when using Opalustre slurry?

OpalCups finishing cups are highly recommended when using Opalustre abrasion slurry. The latch-type bristle polishing cups help facilitate a more aggressive action and minimize splatter when used with the Opalustre microabrasion technique.

  • Can I give my patient teeth whitening treatments in addition to the Opalustre abrasion slurry procedure?

Yes! Take-home teeth whitening treatments are a great complement to the Opalustre slurry treatment to help further blend and whiten teeth. If desired, in-office teeth whitening treatments can also be performed before or after the appointment.
