VALO™ Curing Light Lenses

For VALO™ Cordless and VALO™ Corded LED curing lights, magnetic lenses are particularly helpful, facilitating specific curing procedures and extending the light's uses. All lenses are secured to the VALO™ light head by a strong magnet inside the lens housing and are compatible with both VALO™ Corded and VALO™ Cordless curing lights. Lenses are reusable and should be disinfected using an intermediate-level disinfectant after each use.

Accessory lenses for VALO™ Corded and VALO™ Cordless lights include:

Curing Lenses:

  • PointCure™ lens: creates a 2.5 mm diameter curing area to aid in position and tack curing
  • ProxiCure™ Ball lens: holds matrix against contact while curing composite for Class II restorations

Diagnostic Aid Lenses:

  • Interproximal lens: provides a focused 1 mm white light to help view interproximal caries
  • TransLume™ lens: aids in detection of cracks and defects in a tooth or prostheses
  • Black Light lens: fluoresces chemicals in various dental materials

Technical Details

PointCure Lens

Clear lens for pinpoint curing of small composites or tack curing veneers.

ProxiCure Ball Lens

The ProxiCure Ball lens facilitates the building of convex proximal contacts. Imprint is easily filled with composite in a second step. Push ProxiCure Ball lens against interproximal wall of band; do not submerge in composite.

TransLume Lens

The penetrating ability of the lens shows the obstruction to light caused by posts or internal bubbles.

Black Light Lens

Black Light lens aids in detecting fluorescent particles in resins for easy differentiation from natural enamel.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How concentrated does the light become with the PointCure lens attached?

The light is focused to a 2.5mm aperture, which makes it ideal for tacking veneers and all-porcelain crowns.
  • How long do veneers and crowns need to be tack cured with the PointCure lens?

For veneers, a 1-second tack cure with VALO light on high power mode is all you need. For all-porcelain crowns, a 2-second cure with VALO light on high power mode from the occlusal surface is sufficient in most cases.

  • Can the TransLume lens be used for curing?

    No.

  • How should the various lenses be cleaned?

Remove any cured dental composites from accessory lenses prior to cleaning. Place in an ultrasonic cleaner with Henry Schein General Purpose Cleaner or an equivalent product for 2–10 minutes.
  • How do the lenses attach to the VALO curing light?

Each lens is magnetically attached to the head of the light. The magnet is strong enough for a secure attachment, but still allows for easy detachment at the right time.
