ChlorCid™, ChlorCid™ V, ChlorCid™ Surf

3% Sodium Hypochlorite Solutions

ChlorCid, ChlorCid V, and ChlorCid Surf solutions contain 3% sodium hypochlorite.

ChlorCid V solution is more viscous for enhanced flow control and lubrication, if desired.

ChlorCid Surf solution includes surfactant to modify surface tension. This allows irrigants to flow into remote areas of the root canal for a deeper clean.

  • Ideal for irrigation during endodontic procedures
  • Removes organic tissue during root canal therapies

*Shipping laws require that the 480ml bottles be shipped by ground transportation. The 480ml bottles are currently only available in the USA.

Technical Details

Organic Tissue in the Canal

When in the canal, ChlorCid, ChlorCid V, and ChlorCid Surf solutions dissolve soft tissue and act as a file lubricant.

IndiSpense Syringe

Verify flow of all syringes prior to applying intraorally. If resistance is met, replace tip and recheck. To avoid cross contamination, do not re-use tips.

Procedures

Establish Patency

See Instructions for Use for complete instructions, warnings, and precautions.

Step 1

Fill canal with ChlorCid V solution 3% NaOCI solution and place a small amount of File-Eze 19% EDTA file lubricant at canal orifice. These chemicals will be in the canal simultaneously.

Step 2

Scout canal with a #10 or #15 SS K-File.

Step 3

Irrigate with 3–5 ml of ChlorCid or ChlorCid Surf solution.

Step 4

Fill canal with ChlorCid V solution. File-Eze lubricant is no longer needed.

Step 5

Proceed gently towards the apical area with selected hand file. Before using the Endo-Eze FIND apex locator, make sure the tip of the file is engaged at the apical region. Determine the working length.

Step 6

Irrigate with 3–5 ml of ChlorCid or ChlorCid Surf solution.

Preparation and Glide Path

See Instructions for Use for complete instructions, warnings, and precautions.

Step 1

Fill canal with ChlorCid V solution.

Step 2

Create a glide path using a #15 SS K-File to the working length. Using watch-winding movements, open space until the file is loose.

Step 3

Irrigate with additional 3–5 ml of ChlorCid solution.

Instrumentation/Obturation

See Instructions for Use for complete instructions, warnings, and precautions.

Step 1

Fill canal with ChlorCid V solution.

Step 2

Use the preferred file to the working length.

Step 3

Irrigate with additional 3–5 ml of ChlorCid or ChlorCid Surf solution.

Step 4

Fill canal with ChlorCid V solution.

Step 5

Use additional preferred file sequence always followed by copious irrigation with ChlorCid or ChlorCid Surf solutions.

Step 6

Evacuate with the Ultradent Luer Vacuum Adapter and Capillary tip.

Step 7

Fill canal with Ultradent EDTA 18% solution. Leave for approximately 60 seconds.

Step 8

Evacuate with the Ultradent Luer Vacuum Adapter and Capillary tip.

Step 9

Soak with Consepsis 2% chlorhexidine gluconate solution. Leave for approximately 3–5 minutes.

Step 10

Evacuate with the Ultradent Luer Vacuum Adapter and Capillary tip.

Step 11

Dry with paper points for 1–2 seconds (each point should be damp approximately 1–3 mm at tip).

Step 12

Canal should be damp, NOT desiccated, prior to obturation with EndoREZ canal sealer.
