Three Things Every Dentist Needs for Success
Dr. Shea Bess | 6 CE Credits
This cut-to-the-chase practical course is designed to assist clinicians in making critical everyday decisions. We will discuss direct posterior and anterior composite restorations and how to produce tight interproximal contacts the first time, every time. We will also learn to create beautiful, long lasting composite restorations that are indiscernible to the naked eye (especially for those of us who are not naturally gifted with art and color matching). Tips on how to efficiently and predictably capture perfect impressions and eliminate remakes will be offered. A cementation protocol will be put forward to assist the practitioner in obtaining the retention wanted on fixed restorations of feldspathic porcelain, lithium disilicate, and zirconia. And finally, some real world practice management ideas will be introduced that can make a difference with handling broken appointments and staff issues.
You Will Learn
- The steps involved in creating the perfect posterior and anterior restorations
- A simple process to mass produce anterior composites
- What it takes to prepare, impress, and cement or bond a fixed prosthesis
- Practice management ideas on how to deal with some of the most stressful aspects of running a small business

Dr. Shea Bess
Dr. Shea Bess graduated from the University of Utah in 1998 in Medical Biology, and received his DDS from Loma Linda University in 2002. Six months after graduation, Dr. Bess started his dental practice in South Jordan, Utah, and continues to maintain a rigorous schedule as a full-time clinician, specializing in restorative and cosmetic dentistry. When he’s not practicing dentistry, Dr. Bess enjoys brainstorming and discussing dental products, experimenting with clinical techniques, finding innovative ways to produce higher quality dentistry and run a more efficient, profitable business, which he passionately shares in his lectures and seminars across the United States. Dr. Bess is also a committed humanitarian, traveling worldwide to provide dental care to underserved populations in Fiji, Guatemala, the Navajo Nation, and his local community for several years. From his travels, Dr. Bess has gleaned numerous unexpected, compelling pearls of wisdom about life and dentistry from the wise people he’s encountered, which he also incorporates into his presentations. He is happily married to a much prettier Dr. Bess, and together, they share four sons.
