The Similarities Between Quality Marriages and Quality Long-Lasting Dentistry

Modern operative dentistry is guided by some very important principles that must be understood in order to create predictable, quality, long-lasting results. There is a plethora of restorative materials available today, and we as clinicians must be as knowledgeable as possible about each of them. We must know when to use composite, lithium disilicate, zirconia, porcelain, metal, etc., and we must know the dos and don'ts for preparing the tooth and the chosen material. Join Dr. Dan Fischer as he discusses a fun way to help dental professionals stay on top of the complex and ever-changing dental world by comparing the creation of quality, long-lasting dentistry with the creation of a quality, long-lasting marriage. You’ll see that what can be boring becomes fun and, hence, memorable, assuring immediate and lasting implementation.

Carol Jent, RDH

Carol Jent

Carol Jent, RDH Some people think Carol Jent is trying to fit two lifetimes into one. While running marathons, mountaineering, and crashing small planes, she first became a certified dental assistant then earned a degree in dental hygiene from the University of Alaska. Later, she graduated from the University of Utah in communications and marketing with an emphasis in healthcare. Though she has held various positions at Ultradent, she is currently the R&D Clinical Hygienist and oversees the dental hygiene school programs. Carol maintains a busy lecture schedule, authors dental and dental hygiene articles, and serves on the boards of numerous organizations. She even manages to see patients at least once a week. An avid volunteer, Carol contributes her time and expertise to Donated Dental Services, Sealants for Smiles, and an annual healthcare mission to China. Thankfully she no longer flies small planes.
