Product Details

ClearMetal is the only transparent matrix with the advantages of metal malleability. It is designed to create natural contours, and its hundreds of resin-filled micro-windows allow you to initiate curing through the matrix.
  • Hundreds of resin-filled micro-windows allow light to pass through the matrix
  • Combine with the V3 Ring and Wave-Wedge for great anatomy and a “clear” advantage
  • Anatomical design produces natural contours, saving finishing time
  • Matrix hugs the tooth for extra stability
  • Matrix wings won’t get in the way during ring placement
  • Micro-windows leave no imprint on the composite
  • Nonstick for easy removal

Indications for Use

ClearMetal Matrix

The ClearMetal Matrix is suitable for all Class II restorations. Its transparent surface allows light to pass through, so curing can be initiated with the matrix still in place

Clinicals

ClearMetal Matrix

Easy to Place

The ClearMetal Matrix is easily placed in the embrasure after the tooth has been prepared.

Technical Details

Resin-Filled “Micro-Windows” for Optimum Curing

The ClearMetal matrix system allows you to initiate light curing through the metal, giving you the peace of mind of knowing that the composite is sufficiently cured before the matrix is removed. The matrix also has excellent contrast against the tooth to make the gingival margin stand out, which aids in confirming the seal. The micro-windows do not leave any imprint on the composite. Micro-windows act like a “ramp cure” where light intensity is increased gradually to reduce initial stress and optimize polymerization.

Transparent with Metal Malleability

ClearMetal is the only transparent matrix with the advantages of metal malleability and shape customization if needed. The ClearMetal Matrix normally does not require burnishing, but if minor adaptation is required to achieve a tight contact, the matrix can be burnished with a burnishing instrument or the tip of the Pin-Tweezers.

Non-Stick

The ClearMetal Matrix has a non-stick coating to make removal after the restoration easy. The coating on all sizes of the ClearMetal Matrix is a neutral color.

Stunning Anatomical Accuracy

The unique design of the ClearMetal Matrix allows it to hug the tooth for exceptionally predictable tight contacts. In addition, the gingival apron is ideally shaped to the commonly encountered cavity form to prevent gaps in the gingival axial corner, and the rolled ridge on the occlusal margin of the matrix allows you to create beautiful marginal ridges in every restoration.

FAQs

  • What can I do to be sure that the ClearMetal Matrix will slide easily into the proximal space?

It always pays to ensure that the interproximal contact is open before placing the matrix. If there is no gap, we recommend using a diamond polishing strip to open it slightly. This makes it easier to position the matrix correctly without deformation, and to view the vertical margins during the procedure, and also to check these margins at follow-up appointments. Beveling the gingival margin will also make it easier to confirm by sight, inside the box, that you have a proper matrix seal.
  • I want matrix placement to be as easy as possible. Do you have any other tips?

Sometimes it is overlooked during the learning stage that you can bend the matrix tab to aid insertion. Grip the occlusal tab of the ClearMetal Matrix with Pin-Tweezers, bend the tab towards you to create a contra-angle, and place the matrix apically in the gingival crevice. It sure beats other matrix insertion methods.
  • Is there anything I can do to speed up or streamline my workflow when using ClearMetal?

A really good thing to do is for your assistant to preload matrices and wedges in Triodent Pin-Tweezers. The tweezers hold consumables securely in their passive position, so they can be ready for use, already loaded, on the operatory table. The same can be done with the V3 Ring in Triodent Forceps with the locking bar engaged, but do not leave the ring extended for too long.
  • Do I need to burnish ClearMetal Matrices?

Ordinarily, no. The matrix is already anatomically shaped, so burnishing is not needed unless you want to customize the provided contour. All that is needed to ensure a tight contact point is for the matrix band to be touching the adjacent tooth prior to composite placement. This can be done carefully with a blunt instrument like a ball burnisher or the tips of Triodent Pin-Tweezers if they fit into the preparation.
