  • Utah Food Bank “Drive for a Drive” Charity Golf Tournament

    August 12, 2014 SOUTH JORDAN, Utah

    ​Ultradent Products, Inc. will host an exclusive “Drive for a Drive” charity golf tournament to benefit the Utah Food Bank next month. The event will take place on September 19, 2014 at the South Mountain Golf Course in Draper, Utah. Ultradent is offering numerous ways to support the event by participating in or purchasing one of the numerous sponsorship packages available to the public. Ultradent will donate 100% of the proceeds to the Utah Food Bank.

    The tournament will begin with player registration and breakfast at 7:00 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. The $99 player participation fee includes 18 holes of golf, a golf cart, t-shirt, tournament golf bag, breakfast, lunch, and one raffle ticket for post-event prizes. Supporters can also choose to help sponsor the event by purchasing one of four available sponsorship packages for $500, $1000, $1500, or $2000.  Please see attached flyers for additional player and sponsorship benefits.

    Ultradent has been one of the Utah Food Bank’s largest contributors for over five years. Last year, Ultradent set a new company record during its “Hunger Games” themed food drive, raising over 352,000 lbs. of food, which translated to over $87,500. Each year, Ultradent employees have consistently increased the amount of food/money raised during its annual food drive, raising 208,000 lbs. of food during its 2012 drive, and 85,000 lbs. of food in 2011.

    Clinical research shows that establishing the correct working length is critical for success in root canal therapy. One published in vivo study states: “Underestimation of the WL [Working Length] can lead to insufficient debridement of the root canal, whereas overestimation can result in damage to the periapical tissues, which will delay or prevent healing. . . . Furthermore, radiographs provide a two-dimensional image of a three-dimensional structure, which might affect the interpretation.”1 Another published study found that “working length ending radiographically 0 to 2 mm short of the radiographic apex does not guarantee that instrumentation beyond the apical foramen will be avoided. . . . Therefore radiographic working length measurements should be combined with electronic working length determination using modern apex locators.”2

  • Ultradent Holds 2014 Annual Summit: The Ultimate CE Event, Featuring an All-Star Lineup

    August 5, 2014 SOUTH JORDAN, Utah

    ​Ultradent Products, Inc. held its 2014 Ultradent Summit continuing education event this past weekend, August 1–2, at its South Jordan campus. The Summit featured an all-star lineup of speakers who covered topics such as esthetics and technological advances in dentistry and a hands-on practicum in endodontics, composite veneers, and a course on becoming a tooth whitening specialist. The 122 attending clinicians and staff members earned up to 16 CE credit hours during the two-day event.

    The event kicked off with a seminar from Dr. Dan Fischer, who presented his lecture “Close to Home: What Expert Marriage Advice Can Teach Us About Creating Quality, Long-Lasting Dentistry.” After lunch, doctors and staff participated in a seminar given by Ultradent’s director of research and development, Neil Jessop, titled, “The Relationship Between Conservative Dentistry and Bond Strengths.” The evening ended with a dinner hosted by Dr. and Mrs. Fischer at their home.

    Day two of the Ultradent Summit began with a lecture from Dr. Renato Leonardo titled, “Technological Resources and Biological Concepts in Minamally Invasive Dentistry.” Later, Dr. Hal Stewart presented his lecture “Minimally Invasive Direct Veneers and Composites,” followed by the concluding seminar by Shannon Pace Brinker, “Becoming a Whitening Specialist.” The Ultradent Summit events ended with a steak dinner, bonding awards, prizes, and networking.

  • Ultradent, Inc. Partners with Crown Council’s Smiles for Life Foundation with Opalescence Whitening Products

    January 30, 2014 SOUTH JORDAN, Utah

    Ultradent Products, Inc. has partnered with the Crown Council in support of their annual 120-day Smiles for Life Foundation campaign, which encourages patients to “whiten [their] teeth and help a child.” The 2014 campaign will run from March 1 through June 30. During the campaign, approximately 1,000 participating Crown Council dentists throughout the U.S. and Canada will donate 100% of the proceeds from any teeth whitening procedure performed, toward helping children in their local communities and throughout the world. Ultradent has pledged to support the Smiles for Life Foundation by donating Opalescence whitening products to fulfill 100% of the campaign’s tooth whitening needs.


    The Smiles for Life Foundation is the official public children’s charity of the Crown Council. After patients receive their professional tooth whitening treatment from a participating Crown Council dentist, 50% of the appointment’s proceeds is contributed to a local children’s charity chosen by the dentist performing the treatment, and the other 50% benefits other national or worldwide children’s charities selected by the Smiles for Life Foundation.   • Ultradent Raises Over 350,000 lbs. of Food for Utah Food Bank & Typhoon Haiyan Victims

    December 5, 2013 SOUTH JORDAN, Utah

    ​Ultradent Products, Inc. set a new record for its annual “Hunger Games”–themed food drive this year, raising 352,088 lbs. of food for the Utah Food Bank and Typhoon Haiyan victims through AmeriCares. Ultradent set its 2013 goal at 200,000 lbs. of food. The donation translates to $87,659 in total, and over $43,000 for each organization. Each year, Ultradent employees have consistently increased the amount of food/money raised during its annual food drive, and this year is no exception, as Ultradent increased its donation amount by 65%. (Ultradent raised 208,000 lbs. of food during its 2012 food drive, and 85,000 lbs. of food in 2011).


    Donations for Ultradent’s 2013 food drive were raised through numerous opportunity drawings, bake sales, and a “Food Truck Friday” event, organized by company employees. All funds/food donations were collected over an 11-day period, from November 5–November 11. Ultradent presented a check for $43,835 to the CEO of the Utah Food Bank on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, and will present the other half of funds raised to AmeriCares later this month. Dr. Fischer, Ultradent’s president and CEO, attributes his enthusiasm for the food drive to lessons he learned as a young boy. He says, “My grandfather taught me as a young boy that it is only with an open hand that one has the ability to receive.”

  • Ultradent to Hold Groundbreaking Ceremony for Building Expansion

    November 18, 2013 SOUTH JORDAN, Utah

    ​Ultradent Products, Inc. will break ground on a planned 80,000-square-foot expansion of its South Jordan, Utah, campus on Monday, November 18, 2013, at 2:00pm. The ceremony will take place at 10075 South 500 West. The new addition will house a state-of-the-art medical molding facility, expanding upon Ultradent’s already-extensive manufacturing areas. In fact, Ultradent, founded by president and CEO Dr. Dan Fischer in 1978, is not only known as the most vertically integrated dental company in the world, but it also houses more robotics than any other establishment west of the Mississippi River, save the automobile industry. Ultradent proudly manufactures 95% of its products in the USA (on its South Jordan campus), providing jobs to over 1,000 employees right here in Utah.


    Mayor Scott L. Osborne of South Jordan, Utah, will speak at the groundbreaking ceremony, as well as Ultradent president and CEO, Dr. Dan Fischer. Other city officials and company representatives will also attend the ceremony to participate in helping to break ground for the new building. In addition to the large medical molding space, the planned extension will also allow expansion for Ultradent’s operations team, as well as additional warehousing space.

  • Ultradent Kicks off 8th Annual “Hunger Games” Food Drive

    November 11, 2013 SOUTH JORDAN, Utah

    ​Ultradent Products, Inc. will hold its 8th annual “Hunger Games”–themed food drive from November 11–November 21, 2013. Throughout the 2-week event, Ultradent employees will host numerous activities and fundraisers to collect donations for the Utah Food Bank. For the past five years, Ultradent has been one of the Utah Food Bank’s largest contributors, consistently breaking its own record each consecutive year. This year, employees are really “Catching Fire” as they hope to help the Utah Food Bank beat the “Hunger Games” with a record goal of raising 200,000 lbs. of food!


     

    “The Utah Food Bank has come to know Ultradent as a company they can count on. We all know that hunger knows no season,” says Jeannie Nugent, who heads up Ultradent’s food drive every year. Since 2009, when Ultradent raised 18,651 lbs. of food, Ultradent has consistently lead the state year after year in pounds of food donated. Last year, Ultradent set its highest goal yet—100,000 lbs. of food—and ended up raising a total of 208,169 lbs. of food for the Utah Food Bank! To top it off, Ultradent also raised an additional $26,784 to benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy through AmeriCares. Jeannie continues, “Help Ultradent fight the ‘Hunger Games’ by ‘Catching Fire’ from last year’s accomplishments. Sparks are going to fly!” 


     

    Ultradent’s “Hunger Games” Food Drive Activities Include:

    • Ultradent will hold a pre-kickoff fundraiser, “Food Truck Friday,” on November 8 from 10:00 a.m.–2:00pm where Waffle Love, Submarinos, Fiore’s Wood Fired Pizza, and 3 Brother’s Tacos will be open for business. A portion of the proceeds from that day’s event will be donated to the Utah Food Bank. Media, community members, surrounding businesses, families, and students welcome.
    • Official “Hunger Games” Food Drive Spirit Week Kickoff will take place on November 11 at 9:00am in Ultradent’s Large Conference Room. “Tributes” (team leaders) will be announced, who will participate in several “Hunger Games”–themed competitions. Ultradent will also officially announce its goal to raise 200,000 lbs. of food for the Utah Food Bank during its 2013 food drive. Media welcome.
    • For employees, Ultradent will hold numerous activities, shopping events, and spirit competitions to rally donations. Ultradent will also make various online portals available to family and friends who wish to contribute.
