  • Triodent Introduces V3 SuperCurve Kit

March 23, 2015 South Jordan, Utah

Triodent and Ultradent Products, Inc. are pleased to announce the availability of the V3 SuperCurve kit, combining all of the benefits of Triodent’s best in class V3 Ring and System with the SuperCurve non-stick matrix—the ultimate anatomical, contoured, sectional matrix for seamless, predictable Class II restorations. The kit contains one V3 Universal Ring, one V3 Narrow Ring, 125 SuperCurve Matrices in sizes 3.5mm, 4.5mm, 5.5mm, 6.5mm, 7.5mm (20 each), 75 Wave-Wedges (25 Small, 25 Medium, and 25 Large), one pair of Forceps, and two pairs of Pin Tweezers.

The Triodent V3 Ring and System produces tight contacts and a superb seal to the matrix, requiring minimal finishing. The V3 Ring has the widest indications for use of any sectional matrix ring, producing high-quality, predictable Class II composite restorations, every time. The nickel-titanium (NiTi) V3 Ring features exceptional strength for stability, and exerts optimal separation force on the teeth to produce consistently tight contacts. The V-shaped tines eliminate competition with the wedge in the embrasure, allowing the tines to grip both teeth equally, preventing the ring from collapsing into wide cavities.

The addition of the SuperCurve Matrix brings the ultimate anatomical sectional matrix, contoured for greater stability and coated with a non-stick surface for easy removal, to the V3 kit. With the new Triodent V3 SuperCurve kit, clinicians will immediately see the difference in anatomy, finishing time, and ease of use with each item of the kit for superior Class II restorations.

Ultradent is Triodent’s exclusive dealer in the United States. To learn more about, or purchase the V3 SuperCurve kit, call 800.552.5512 or visit ultradent.com.

  • Ultradent Proudly Presents Ultrawave™ and the Ultrawave™ XS Piezo Ultrasonic Units

September 29, 2014 South Jordan, Utah

Ultradent Products, Inc. proudly presents Ultrawave and Ultrawave XS—a new line of piezo ultrasonic devices for the clinician seeking a power scaler that is gentle to the tooth surface while also powerful enough to remove the toughest calculus. The Ultrawave line of piezoelectric devices allows for a variety of uses—from the workhorse of your hygiene operatory to restorative, perio, or endodontic treatments.  Thanks to intuitive Reflex™ technology, both Ultrawave and Ultrawave XS offer optimized performance, reduced chair time, and more comfort for patients.

After years of refinement in the developmental process, Ultrawave and Ultrawave XS offer reliability and efficiency for successful treatments every time. Their ultrasonic piezoelectric linear motion moves back and forth, in contrast to the ellipse of magnetostrictive competitive devices, providing more complete scaling with less effort. The linear motion provides greater consistency and faster performance while treating the tooth more gently.

Ultrawave and Ultrawave XS’s patented Reflex technology features an auto-tuning system, a push-pull system, and a feedback effect. The benefits of this include automatic real-time frequency adjustment (28 kHz–36 kHz) and a controlled amplitude of the tip vibration for smooth operation and patient comfort. Instantaneous adaption and maintenance of power prevents the tip from getting “bogged down” when applied to a dense or heavier load. Both units come with a lightweight handpiece that doesn’t heat up or vibrate, feature a generous 6.5’ cord, and have a compact design for increased mobility and convenience. The Ultrawave XS features an LED handpiece and self-contained irrigation tank with 300ml capacity.
Additionally, Ultrawave and Ultrawave XS offer a convenient Color-Coding System, coordinating the power selection with the different tips. The internal transformer adapts based on the tip and power selection. Both units are compatible with 70+ “S” style tips and are autoclavable at 134°C with a removable nose cone.

  • VALO Awarded the Pride Institute’s “Best of Class” Technology Award for Third Consecutive Year

August 31, 2014 South Jordan, Utah

Ultradent Products, Inc., a global manufacturer and distributor of dental materials and equipment, received The Pride Institute’s “Best of Class” Technology Award for VALO, Ultradent’s curing light, for the third consecutive year. The award is the highest honor for innovation in dental curing lights. Each product honored as “Best of Class” features unique characteristics that differentiate it from the competition in a compelling way and, more importantly, creates value for the general dentist.

“Thank you to the Pride Institute, for recognizing VALO as the ‘Best in Class’ curing light for the 3rd year in a row! We are over the moon with excitement and gratitude about receiving this award by such an esteemed panel of clinicians,” said Suzanne Wilson, Senior Brand Marketing Manager.  “VALO continues to impress clinicians with its durability, power and ability to deliver the required energy like no other curing light on the market.  VALO is the only curing light with a truly blended and uniform beam across multiple wavelengths from 395-480nm.  VALO has an unmatched beam profile showing consistent and uniform energy being delivered, even from a distance.  This matters to clinicians because it illustrates the actual energy being delivered to the restoration versus something one dimensional, like the irradiance output from a radiometer.”

Of VALO’s third consecutive award, Dr. Lou Shuman, president of The Pride Institute and founder of the “Best of Class” Awards initiative stated that, “Our advisory panel determined after a year of research and testing that VALO is still the most advanced curing light on the market, which is why VALO was selected as the winner of The Pride Institute’s ‘Best of Class’ Technology Award for the third year in a row. This is nearly unprecedented, based on how rigorous the selection process is —which speaks to the progressive nature of VALO’s technology.”

The panel that selects the “Best of Class” winners consists of five dentists with significant knowledge of and experience in dental technology, including Dr. Shuman; John Flucke, DDS, writer, speaker and Chief Dental Editor for Dental Products Report; Paul Feuerstein, DMD, writer, speaker and Technology Editor for Dentistry Today ; Marty Jablow, DMD, technology writer and consultant for Dr. BiCuspid; and Parag Kachalia, DDS, Vice-Chair of Preclinical Education, Research and Technology, University of Pacific School of Dentistry.

VALO will be showcased at the “Tech Expo” Booth 4139 at the American Dental Association’s Annual Meeting from Oct. 9 to Oct. 14 in San Antonio, Texas.

  • Introducing Endo-Eze® FIND™ Apex Locator

August 6, 2014 SOUTH JORDAN, Utah

Ultradent Products, Inc. is proud to introduce the Endo-Eze FIND apex locator. Endo-Eze FIND is an electronic device used for apex localization and working-length determination during root canal treatment. FIND offers unsurpassed accuracy with a convenient, easy-to-read, full-color graphic display; audio feedback; and fully automatic multifrequency measurements. Thanks to its compact design and small footprint, FIND easily fits on any counter or treatment tray.

Clinical research shows that establishing the correct working length is critical for success in root canal therapy. When used in combination with radiographic measurements, an apex locator can significantly increase endodontic treatment success. One published in vivo study states: “Underestimation of the WL [Working Length] can lead to insufficient debridement of the root canal, whereas overestimation can result in damage to the periapical tissues, which will delay or prevent healing. . . . Furthermore, radiographs provide a two-dimensional image of a three-dimensional structure, which might affect the interpretation.”1 Another published study found that “working length ending radiographically 0 to 2 mm short of the radiographic apex does not guarantee that instrumentation beyond the apical foramen will be avoided. . . . Therefore radiographic working length measurements should be combined with electronic working length determination using modern apex locators.”2

To learn more about, or to purchase, the Endo-Eze FIND apex locator kit, please call 800-552-5512 or visit Ultradent.com.
