November 24, 2015 South Jordan, UT

Ultradent Products, Inc. held its annual food drive this year, promoted with an “Ironman” theme, as the company aimed to raise as much food and money for the Utah Food Bank as possible within a three-day intensive push. Within those three days, Ultradent was able to raise $85,263, which translates to 341,036 lbs. of food that will help feed needy people and hungry families this holiday season and throughout the year. Throughout its history with the Utah Food Bank, Ultradent has helped raise 1.2 million pounds of food since the tradition began in 2011, though often times splitting their donations between the Utah Food Bank and victims of world tragedy, such as those affected by Typhoon Haiyan in 2013.

Donations for Ultradent’s 2015 food drive were raised through numerous opportunity drawings, bake/pop-up boutique sales, several “Food Truck Friday” events, and a charitable golf tournament, all organized by company employees. Ultradent presented a check for $85,263 to the CEO of the Utah Food Bank on Thursday, November 19, 2015.

Dr. Fischer, Ultradent’s president and CEO, attributes his enthusiasm for the food drive to lessons he learned as a young boy. He says, “My grandfather taught me as a young boy that it is only with an open hand that one has the ability to receive.”

  • Ultradent Products, Inc. Proudly Introduces Endo-Eze® EVOS™ Endodontic Motor, Endo-Eze® EVOS™ Contra-Angle, and Endo-Eze® Genius™ Files

September 22, 2015 South Jordan, UT

Ultradent Products Inc. proudly introduces the Endo-Eze EVOS endodontic motor, the Endo-Eze EVOS 8:1 contra-angle, and the Endo-Eze Genius reciprocation and rotary files.

Clinicians no longer have to choose between the safety of reciprocation and the efficiency of rotary, thanks to the Endo-Eze EVOS (Endodontic Variable Operating System) motor, which allows for easy movement between the two modes. The EVOS motor is an electric, motor-driven handpiece intended for root canal preparation procedures in the endodontic field. The device consists of a control unit, featuring an LCD screen with a selection of settings. The unit includes a foot pedal, allowing the clinicians to selectively activate/deactivate the motor at will. Pre-programmed for the Genius files, the EVOS motor helps minimize the risk of file separation (in reciprocation mode) while shaping and removing debris efficiently (in rotation mode) — seamlessly meeting the need for safety and efficiency.

The Endo-Eze EVOS contra-angle is an 8:1 reduction, stainless steel contra-angle intended for use during endodontic treatment. The EVOS contra-angle can rotate in both rotary and reciprocation mode, depending on the motor settings. The EVOS contra-angle can be used with the EVOS motor and Genius files, but is also compatible with other endodontic systems on the market.

Last, the Endo-Eze Genius files are designed for use in endodontic treatment for shaping and cleaning the root canal system. The working part of each Genius file consists of nickel-titanium alloy, heat-treated to increase flexibility while retaining strength in order to provide superior instrumentation. The Endo-Eze Genius files were designed specifically for use with the EVOS motor and can be used in both reciprocation and rotary mode.

To learn more about, or to purchase the Endo-Eze EVOS endodontic motor, the EVOS contra-angle, or the Genius files, please call 800.552.5512, or visit ultradent.com.

  • Ultradent Announced as Global Distributor of The Uveneer™ Direct Composite Veneer Template System

August 19, 2015 South Jordan, Utah

Ultradent Products Inc., is pleased to announce global distribution* of Uveneer™, the only direct composite veneer template system available in the dental market today.

For dentists frustrated with unpredictable results from direct composite veneers, the Uveneer direct composite veneer template system is the only user-friendly tool on the market that effectively minimizes the need for carving and polishing so one can quickly produce beautiful anterior restorations. The Uveneer system is a unique, minimally invasive template system that creates beautiful direct composite veneers with predictable shape and symmetry—all in one visit. Each template mimics natural dentition and is designed to create high-quality, natural-looking anterior restorations. The Uveneer system uses innovative technologies that help the dentist achieve a refined, anatomically correct, high-gloss restoration in a fraction of the time than if done freehand. Results are both reproducible and predictable. It can also be used for cosmetic mock-ups and shade selection as well as temporaries during porcelain veneer creation.

The Uveneer direct composite veneer template system works with any preferred composite, and facilitates application on individual or multiple teeth. Each template allows light to pass through to the composite for effective curing, while eliminating the oxygen inhibition layer, resulting in a hard, glossy surface. It also releases easily from cured composite resin. Each Uveneer template is autoclavable and reusable, making it a cost-effective choice. Each individual template is numbered to correspond with tooth number, tooth size, and upper and lower arch, ensuring ease of use.

Australian-based dentist Dr. Sigal Jacobson created the Uveneer direct composite template kit when she found that traditional freehand direct composite veneers were artistically challenging, unpredictable, and not always cost-effective. Passionate about conservative cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Jacobson knew there was a better way to create long-lasting, esthetic composite veneers. She spent years working with engineers to create the perfect design, resulting in the Uveneer direct composite veneer template system.

Ultradent is the global distributor* of the Uveneer direct composite veneer template system. To learn more about, or purchase the Uveneer system, call 800.552.5512 or visit ultradent.com.

  • VALO® Awarded the Pride Institute’s “Best of Class” Technology Award For 4th Consecutive Year

June 22, 2015 South Jordan, Utah

Now in its seventh year, the Pride Institute’s “Best of Class” Technology Award continues unparalleled in its integrity and approach to recognizing excellence in dental innovation. In 2015, the VALO LED curing light, from Ultradent Products, Inc., is one of those lauded as “Best of Class.”

“To be honored as ‘Best of Class’ is a sign that a product has revolutionized, simplified, or advanced its category in a distinctive way,” said Dr. Lou Shuman, "Best of Class" founder. “The manufacturers represented here are driving the conversation for how dental practices will operate today and in the future. The foundation for our success in bringing attention to these products has always been our formula: technology leadership in dentistry, unbiased, and not for profit.”

“Best of Class” honorees are chosen by a panel comprised of leading voices in dental technology, who come together each year to discuss, debate, and decide what products merit recognition. All technology categories are considered, but if there is no clear differentiator that sets a product apart in its category, then no winner is selected. Panelists who receive compensation from dental companies are prevented from voting in that company’s category. Over the years, the panel has developed a rapport that makes space for important conversations about the value of different innovations and how evolving categories become more or less valuable to the general dentist. The spirited debate that follows results in a variety of products—obscure and well-known, basic and aspirational—being honored.

“Technology decisions can be expensive and confusing for many doctors. Our job as ‘Best of Class’ panelists is to eat, sleep, live, breathe, and use technology in our general practices in real, everyday dentistry. We also have a chance to show and discuss these products with dental students and colleagues,” said Dr. John Flucke, writer, speaker, and Technology Editor for Dental Products Report. “This allows us to provide recommendations that a doctor and staff can rely on to make informed decisions regarding their technology purchases.”

The panel consists of five dentists with significant knowledge of and experience in dental technology, including: Dr. Shuman; Dr. Flucke; Paul Feuerstein, DMD, writer, speaker and Technology Editor for Dentistry Today; Marty Jablow, DMD, technology writer and consultant for Dr. Bicuspid; and Parag Kachalia, DDS, Vice-Chair of Preclinical Education, Research and Technology, University of Pacific School of Dentistry.
Mike Simmons, Ultradent equipment brand manager says, “Ultradent is incredibly pleased and honored to receive this distinguished award for the 4th year in a row by such an esteemed and respected panel. Simply put, VALO delivers. It delivers a broadspectrum light that cures both camphorquinone and specialized proprietary photoinitiators. It delivers a uniformly collimated beam to cure a range of surfaces and working differences. It delivers accessibility, which translates to a more comfortable procedure for the patient. And most importantly, VALO delivers real value to the clinician—which is why it has been ranked #1 for four years in a row.”
The Pride Institute “Best of Class” Technology awards were launched in 2009 as a new concept to provide an unbiased, non-profit assessment of available technologies in the dental space. Through print and digital media coverage, the “Best of Class” message reaches the community of 150,000 dentists through multiple touch points—in print and online—educating them about the products. Honoree participation in the “Tech Expo” at the American Dental Association’s Annual Meeting offers face-to-face interaction with the companies as well as technology-centered education provided by members of the panel and the esteemed consultants of Pride Institute. Courses at last year’s 2014 meeting sold out. This year’s event will be held November 5–10 in Washington, DC.
