This fast-paced, informative session will introduce the participants to several new philosophies, materials, and techniques in preventive and restorative dentistry designed to simplify clinical practice and yield predictable clinical outcomes and problem-free restorations. Various clinical tips and techniques designed to eliminate commons problems associated with routine clinical procedures will be introduced. They will include: diagnosing and managing caries, periodontal disease and occlusion, ridge preservation, and techniques to bring your direct and indirect restorations to the next level.
We will cover the following:
- How to enhance disease management strategies
- Which materials and techniques are critical for restorative success
- New technologies specifically designed to enhance clinical results and simplify inventory
- The importance of diode lasers in restorative dentistry

Dr. Marc Geissberger
Dr. Marc Geissberger is a former full professor and past Chair of the Department of Integrated Reconstructive Dental Sciences at University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry. He is a fellow of the American Dental Education Association’s leadership institute, researcher, as well as a published author in the areas of dental materials, contemporary fixed prosthodontics, and esthetic dentistry.

- An overview of tooth whitening chemistry and mechanisms
- A review of current whitening techniques, including over-the-counter products, professional in-office procedures, and professionally dispensed products for home use
- An easy protocol to identify patients who desire whitening (just about everyone) and then an easy protocol to incorporate whitening into your practice
- A look at how offering professional tooth whitening will affect your bottom line
- Other conservative treatments like microabrasion and resin infiltration that can be coupled with whitening for treatment of hypocalcification and VWLs

Dr. Susan McMahon has enjoyed a successful career for over 25 years in the dental industry. Susan is an accomplished cosmetic dentist, national Key Opinion Leader in the dental industry, educator, and author.

Join Dr. Hakim in this dynamic program encompassing both seminar and hands-on elements. The primary goal of this lecture is to elevate the knowledge base, technical skills, and evidence-driven approach for all participants. Dr. Hakim will assign special focus towards efficiency and predictability of outcomes.

- A viscosity-based approach to delivery

- A substrate, occlusion, and esthetics-based approach to material selection
- All aspects of indirect restorative delivery including preparation, impression/digital capture, and decisions of cementation vs. bonding
- Ancillary equipment and technologies, including curing lights and lasers
Dr. Foroud Hakim
Dr. Foroud Hakim has balanced private practice and dental education for over 30 years. He has a true passion for restorative dentistry ranging from complex rehabilitation to optimal and conservative single tooth restoration. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at University of the Pacific and served as course director for Occlusion, TMJ and Advanced Restorative Concepts.

You will see how adhesives perform relative to one another when tested on both dentin and enamel. - Cementation of an indirect prosthesis can be a maze of materials and techniques
- We will unravel the confusion with regards to cementing or bonding zirconia, lithium disilicate, and others
Dr. Shea Bess
Dr. Shea Bess graduated from the University of Utah in 1998 in Medical Biology, and received his DDS from Loma Linda University in 2002. Dr. Bess lectures all over the United States on cosmetic and restorative dentistry.
