The Hottest Topics in Dentistry Today
This seminar is intended to excite dentists and their staffs about the practice of dentistry. It demonstrates how easy it is to enhance dental practices with the hottest topics in the industry: teeth whitening in less than an hour, no prep porcelain veneers, resin bonding, overhead control, treatment acceptance, and patient financing. In addition to allowing practitioners to offer new dental services, integrating these practical procedures and concepts increases production, reduces overhead, minimizes stress and makes dentistry fun. Fast-paced and entertaining, this educational seminar is recommended for dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and office managers.
Course Objectives
This seminar will provide information about:
• The latest resin bonding materials and techniques.
• The fastest, easiest, and most successful way to bleach teeth.
• Techniques for no preparation porcelain veneers.
• Why lasers are a must for every cosmetic dentistry procedure.
• Narrow diameter implants.
• The new esthetic dentistry paradigm shift.
• Combining clinical and practice management for faster, easier, better dentistry.
—DR. LOUIS MALCMACHER—
For nearly three decades, Dr. Louis Malcmacher has lectured internationally on a variety of topics, including the importance of clinical and practice management. Dr. Malcmacher is widely known for his comprehensive and entertaining approach, and regularly contributes to both dental and mainstream publications, including Dentistry Today, Dental Economics, Dental Tribune, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Newsweek, Reader’s Digest, and Men’s Health. He is an evaluator for Gordon J. Christensen’s Clinicians Report, and frequently consults with dental manufacturers, researching and developing new products and techniques. His monthly publication, The Common Sense Dentistry Newsletter, is received by nearly 10,000 dental professionals.
Art in Dentistry: Excellence in Direct Anterior and Posterior Composites
In this practical, relevant course, Dr. Ruiz reviews the new paradigm in tooth preparation for adhesively retained, direct-bonded composite restorations. He covers principles and techniques that enable predictable bonds but minimize post-operative sensitivity, and reviews recent advances in resin composites. Dr. Ruiz demonstrates techniques for placing and finishing esthetic anterior and posterior composite restorations, and shares the principles of color, shade-matching, and the use of tints and opaquers to achieve exquisite natural-looking restorations.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this practical course you will be able to:
• Perform direct composite veneers and fast
class II restorations with predictable, beautiful
results and minimal post-operative sensitivity.
• Understand the latest developments in
composite resins.
• Incorporate state-of-the-art composite
and bonding techniques into your practice.
• Understand the principles of smile design,
color and color-matching.
• Apply tints and opaquers to
composite resins.

— JOSE-LUIS RUIZ, DDS, FAGD —

He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, Associate Instructor and Mentor at PCC Utah—where he teaches with Dr. Gordon Christensen—and an independent evaluator of dental products for CRA. Dr. Ruiz has been practicing General Dentistry in the Film Studio District of Los Angeles for over 17 years; his esthetic makeovers have been featured on a number of television shows, including NBC Channel 4 News, ABC 7 Vista LA, and Channel 52 Telemundo. Ruiz has published multiple papers on Cosmetic Dentistry and Team Leadership, and regularly lectures internationally. Dentistry Today named Dr. Ruiz one of the country’s “Top 100 Clinicians in CE” (2006-2008).
Upgrade Your Cosmetic Treatments and Decrease Overhead By Doing More and Referring Less
General dentists are in the unique position to master and add many new procedures to their cosmetic menus. This seminar introduces a logical treatment sequence protocol to enhance your cosmetic offerings, enabling you to better serve your patients and improve your bottom line. We discuss how the addition of power whitening prior to restorative procedures enhances the esthetic outcome and simplifies shade selection, as well as how minor tooth movement can simplify restorative procedures by improving arch shape and tooth positions. We also illustrate how to improve cosmetic outcomes through gingival recontouring, and using simplified layering for conservative direct bond techniques.
Course Objectives
You will learn to:
• Incorporate bleaching techniques as the
foundation of the cosmetic practice.
• Add minor tooth movement to your
repertoire and analyze the advantages
of aligner therapy for limited
orthodontic cases.
• Achieve better overall cosmetic results
by adding simple periodontal grafting
procedures and gingival recontouring.
• Save time when utilizing direct bond resins
in your restorative treatment.
